This Wasn’t Just a Business Decision—It Was a Calling

How My Faith Journey, Passion for People, and a Purpose-Driven Path Led Me to Network in Action.

In life, there are moments that change your direction. Not just in the way a GPS might re-route you when you miss a turn, but in the kind of way that shifts your entire perspective.

For me, one of those moments came in 2014, when I gave my life to Christ.

It wasn’t a dramatic, spotlight-filled conversion. It was deeply personal. I was ready for something more meaningful than what the world was offering. A year later, I was baptized, publicly declaring my faith and in 2016, I was ordained as a non-denominational minister.

From that point on, I knew I was called to serve. But what I didn’t know yet… was how.

I wasn't looking to preach from a pulpit or run a church. My path didn’t lead me to a sanctuary, it led me to boardrooms, networking events, and coffee shop meetings. I prayed often: “Lord, show me how I’m meant to serve with the gifts You’ve given me.”

And like He always does, God answered. Just not in the way I expected.

When the opportunity to purchase a Network in Action (NIA) franchise presented itself, it didn’t hit me as a simple business deal. It struck a chord deep. It felt like the answer to the prayer I’d been whispering for years.

This wasn’t about building a personal empire. It was about building others.

With my Master’s in Public Administration and a concentration in nonprofit leadership, serving others has always been my foundation. I’ve spent my life volunteering, mentoring, and working alongside others to uplift communities. I’ve always believed leadership is about more than strategy, it’s about stewardship.

But NIA brought it all together. It connected the dots between business, faith, and service.

Here was a platform that allowed me to help people succeed, not just professionally, but holistically. I get to work with entrepreneurs and small business owners, helping them deepen relationships, generate referrals, and grow with purpose. And the best part? I get to minister to them through authentic support, encouragement, and connection, even if the word “ministry” never comes up.

“Help others succeed, and I’ll take care of the rest.”

That’s what I heard from God as I stepped into this next chapter.

Through Network in Action, I’ve found a mission field I never expected right in the heart of the business world.

And it’s working.

I’ve seen struggling businesses come back to life through meaningful connections. I’ve watched people who were isolated suddenly feel like they belong. I’ve seen faith, hope, and confidence grow sometimes in ways that have nothing to do with the bottom line, but everything to do with the soul.

As I reflect on this journey, I’m reminded often of Matthew 25:40:

“Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”

Every referral passed, every introduction made, every meeting where someone finally feels heard, these moments matter. They’re part of something bigger than a networking group. They’re part of a Kingdom mindset that says, “Your success is my mission.”

I didn’t just buy a franchise.

I answered a calling.

I stepped into purpose.

And I now understand that ministry can look like a lot of things—it’s not always a sermon or a service. Sometimes, it’s sitting across from a business owner who feels stuck and helping them take the next step. Sometimes, it’s sparking a connection that changes the trajectory of someone’s career. Sometimes, it’s just showing up with integrity, faith, and a heart to serve.

So if you’re someone out there wondering how your faith and your professional life can align, let me encourage you: They’re not separate worlds. In fact, when you let God direct your path, He’ll show you how to bring light into whatever field He places you in—whether that’s in ministry, business, or a beautifully blended mix of both.

I’m here today not because I built something on my own. I’m here because I said yes when God opened the door.

And if this sounds like something you need in your life—whether you’re looking for deeper community, stronger business connections, or a network built on trust and mutual success, let’s talk. I’d love to walk this journey with you.

After all, success is always sweeter when it’s shared.

Stop Pitching, Start Connecting: Networking Advice You Didn’t Know You Needed

March 19, 2025

You’ve heard it all before: "Always be closing." "Sell, sell, sell." But here's the uncomfortable truth, no one likes feeling like they're being sold to. Traditional networking often feels forced, artificial, and frankly exhausting. Business cards pile up, but real connections remain elusive.

What if the key to growing your business isn't another perfectly memorized pitch, but genuine human connections built on trust, authenticity, and mutual understanding?

Welcome to Network in Action Power Team Carolinas, where we've turned networking upside down and put the focus where it belongs, on real relationships.

The Problem With Pitching

Think about the last networking event you attended. Did you leave feeling genuinely connected with anyone, or did you simply exchange rehearsed elevator pitches? The truth is, traditional networking rarely leads to lasting, productive relationships. People tune out scripted sales pitches. They crave genuine interactions.

Why Connection Matters More

Real connections create lasting trust, and trust is the cornerstone of referrals and ongoing business. When people trust you, they don’t just refer you, they advocate for you. They willingly become an extension of your marketing because they genuinely believe in you and your business.

How Network in Action Changes the Game

At NIA Power Team Carolinas, we've replaced endless pitches with structured opportunities for authentic connections:

  • Monthly Meetings for Maximum Impact: Our meetings happen once a month, allowing deeper interactions and meaningful exchanges, rather than superficial weekly check-ins.
  • Focused, Genuine Interaction: We provide an environment designed for professionals to interact authentically. You’ll have conversations, not sales pitches.
  • Educational and Growth-Oriented: Each meeting includes valuable business coaching and educational workshops that improve your skills at building connections, not just your pitch.
  • A Community of Advocates: You’re not just getting referrals; you’re building a network of trusted advocates who genuinely want to see you succeed.

Practical Steps to Stop Pitching and Start Connecting

  1. Be Authentic: Skip the script. Share your passion, purpose, and personal stories. Authenticity resonates and builds immediate trust.
  2. Listen More Than You Talk: Great connectors are great listeners. Show genuine interest in others and their challenges. Connection grows when people feel heard.
  3. Offer Value Without Expectation: Always ask, “How can I help?” Provide insights or make introductions freely, establishing yourself as a giver, not a taker.
  4. Follow Up With Purpose: After your initial interaction, connect again without pushing a sale. Send a relevant article, introduce them to someone helpful, or simply check-in.

Ready to change your networking mindset?

Experience the Network in Action difference yourself. Join our next meeting at LOOM Co-working, 118 Academy St., Fort Mill, SC, on the second Tuesday of the month at 5:00 PM or Rock Taco, 122 E. Main St, Rock Hill on the second Wednesday of the month and enjoy your first drink on us.

Networking in the AI Age: Why Your Relationships Still Matter

Salvatore P. Incorvaia, MPA, AIC, BNC, ORDM

December 10, 2024

As we race toward 2025, artificial intelligence (AI) continues to revolutionize the business world. It’s reshaping how we operate, sell, and connect. Yet, while AI is a powerhouse tool for efficiency and scalability, one critical aspect of business hasn’t changed: relationships still drive success.

In a world buzzing with automation, algorithms, and AI-powered systems, the human connection remains your strongest competitive advantage. Businesses that combine cutting-edge technology with intentional relationship-building are the ones that will lead their industries. This is where Network in Action (NIA) Power Team Carolinas and Brendco Group step in as the ultimate solutions for businesses seeking meaningful networking strategies in the AI era.

AI and Networking: A Powerful Combination

AI has shifted how we approach networking. Tools like chatbots, predictive analytics, and customer relationship management (CRM) systems allow us to gather more data, respond faster, and personalize interactions. However, these tools are only as effective as the strategy behind them. Without authentic relationships to complement the tech, networking becomes transactional—and ultimately ineffective.

Imagine attending a networking event where everyone focuses only on handing out business cards and collecting LinkedIn connections. Without genuine interaction, follow-up, and trust-building, those connections are just names in a database.

At NIA Power Team Carolinas, we understand that the true power of AI lies in how it enhances your ability to foster relationships. Our mastermind-style networking groups leverage AI tools to optimize your outreach while keeping the focus on what matters most: building real connections that lead to real business.

Why Relationships Still Matter in Business

No amount of automation can replace the trust built through meaningful conversations and shared experiences. Relationships are what turn a one-time client into a loyal customer and a casual introduction into a lifelong referral partner. Here’s why they remain essential, even in the AI age:

  1. Trust is Human. AI can analyze patterns, but trust is built through authentic interactions. People still prefer doing business with those they know, like, and trust.
  2. Referrals Drive Growth. Word-of-mouth remains one of the most effective marketing strategies. Strong relationships fuel referrals, which, in turn, generate more revenue.
  3. Collaboration Beats Competition. In today’s interconnected world, partnerships often lead to greater success than competing alone. Networking is the bridge to collaboration.
  4. AI Can’t Close Deals Alone. While AI helps identify opportunities, people close the deals. Relationships are what convert leads into long-term clients.

The Perfect Solution: NIA Power Team Carolinas + Brendco Group

At Network in Action Power Team Carolinas, we’re not your typical networking group. We’ve redefined the networking experience by combining AI-driven tools with a mastermind approach. Here’s how we deliver unmatched value to our members:

by: Salvatore P. Incorvaia, MPA, AIC, BNC, ORDM

September 17, 2024

Network In Action (NIA) has established itself as a leader in the business networking industry, earning the top spot as Entrepreneur magazine's #1 Networking Group for four consecutive years. This remarkable achievement highlights NIA's innovative approach to professional networking and its commitment to helping businesses grow through meaningful connections.

A Revolutionary Approach to Networking

Founded in 2015 by Scott Talley, Network In Action set out to modernize the traditional networking model. The company recognized that busy professionals often struggle to commit to weekly networking meetings, leading to the development of a unique monthly meeting format. This approach, combined with cutting-edge technology, has proven to be a game-changer in the industry[1][4].

Key Factors Behind NIA's Success

Several elements contribute to Network In Action's continued success and recognition:

Monthly Meetings: Unlike traditional weekly networking groups, NIA hosts just one mandatory monthly meeting. This format respects members' time while still fostering strong connections[1].

Technology Integration: NIA leverages a state-of-the-art online platform and smartphone app, allowing members to engage, pass referrals, and track their networking activities throughout the month[1].

Professional Leadership: Each NIA group is led by a dedicated franchise owner, ensuring consistent quality and engagement across all meetings[1].

Quality Control: NIA implements strict vetting processes, including background checks, to maintain high standards among its members[1].

Guaranteed ROI: The company offers a unique return on investment guarantee, demonstrating confidence in its model's effectiveness[1].

Expanding to Charlotte, NC

As part of its ongoing growth, Network In Action is bringing its successful networking model to the Charlotte, North Carolina area. This expansion presents an exciting opportunity for local business owners and professionals to experience NIA's innovative approach to networking[6].

Charlotte's thriving business community and diverse economic landscape make it an ideal location for NIA groups. The city's entrepreneurs and professionals will soon have access to NIA's proven networking formula, potentially opening new doors for business growth and collaboration. Visit https://www.networkinaction.com/index.php/find-a-group and look for Charlotte, to find a group near you.

The NIA Franchise Opportunity

Network In Action's success has also translated into a promising franchise opportunity. The company offers a comprehensive training program for franchisees, equipping them with the skills to become certified experts in business networking[4].

With a relatively low initial investment, NIA franchises present an attractive option for entrepreneurs looking to enter the business services sector[6].

Looking Ahead

As Network In Action continues to expand its presence across the United States and internationally, its commitment to revolutionizing business networking remains strong. The company's consistent recognition by Entrepreneur magazine underscores its position as a leader in the industry and suggests a bright future for both the organization and its members.

By combining the power of face-to-face interactions with modern technology, Network In Action has created a networking model that resonates with today's business professionals. As it makes its way to Charlotte, NC, local businesses can look forward to experiencing the benefits of this award-winning networking approach firsthand.

Why Skipping Networking is Costing You More Than You Think

by: Salvatore P. Incorvaia, MPA, AIC, BNC, ORDM

February 18, 2025

As a business owner or sales professional, time is your most valuable asset. Between managing clients, handling operations, and closing deals, the idea of adding networking to your already packed schedule might feel impossible. And when you look at the cost of joining a networking group, it’s easy to think, Is this really worth it?

But here’s a reality check: 82-85% of all business for small businesses comes from word-of-mouth, networking, and referrals. That means if you’re not actively building relationships, you’re leaving serious money on the table.

The Real Cost of Not Networking

Many professionals see networking as an expense rather than an investment. But consider this:

  • How many hours do you spend cold-calling, chasing leads, or running ads with uncertain ROI?
  • How much revenue are you missing out on because the right people don’t know you exist?
  • How many deals are your competitors closing simply because they show up where relationships matter?

Networking isn’t about just meeting people—it’s about building trust, staying top-of-mind, and creating a steady pipeline of referrals. The right network reduces your marketing costs and brings warm leads directly to you.

Why Network in Action – Power Team Carolinas?

Not all networking groups are created equal. Traditional weekly meetings often feel like a time drain, with rigid rules and limited results. That’s where Network in Action (NIA) – Power Team Carolinas changes the game:

Time-Efficient: We meet once a month for 90 minutes—no unnecessary weekly meetings or wasted hours.

Professional Leadership: Meetings are run by experts who ensure every session is valuable, engaging, and results-driven.

Guaranteed ROI: We guarantee that you will see a return on your investment, or we’ll work with you to ensure you do.

Referral-Driven: We don’t just introduce you to people; we help you create meaningful business relationships that turn into real revenue.

Exclusive Membership: We limit seats to one professional per industry, eliminating direct competition and maximizing referral potential.

Business Growth Focus: Our meetings include networking and professional coaching to help you refine your messaging and sales approach.

The Bottom Line

If your business thrives on word-of-mouth and referrals (and let’s be real, most do), then networking isn’t optional—it’s essential. The question isn’t whether you can afford to join a networking group; it’s whether you can afford not to.

For business owners and sales professionals in York County and Lancaster County, SC, Network in Action – Power Team Carolinas is the smarter, high-impact way to network.
